Save First Accounting Specialist
Full-time (40 hours/week); Non-exempt
Reports to: Accounting Supervisor

The Save First Accounting Specialist is responsible for daily finance processes in the Finance Department, with a focus on the Save First program. This position works very closely with the Accounting Supervisor and other Finance staff and is a strong, contributing member of the organization.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as primary liaison with Save First operational staff to research and respond to Finance questions.
Process periodic Save First contract and grant billings by assembling eligible costs and producing billings consistent with the requirements of each individual grant or contract.
Work with Save First staff to manage and interpret the financial requirements in contract and grant agreements.
Responsible for reconciliations of Salesforce client assistance records.
Review and process checks and electronic payments for the Save First program.
Provide regular support for the Accounting Supervisor with the monthly closing procedures.
Run general ledger reports and conduct variance analysis.
Participate in trainings and coordination meetings as requested by Supervisor.
Adherence to Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent lived and / or worked experience preferred.
Minimum 2 years' experience in accounting, finance or related field, required.
Ability to effectively work with standard office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; accounting software and 10-key by touch. Experience with Intacct and Concur software a plus.
Experience working with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions, preferably in a nonprofit accounting office.
Knowledge and understanding of 501(c)(3) non-profit organization accounting requirements.
Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
Commitment to Catholic Charities mission to work in partnership with vulnerable populations to achieve lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.
Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. High attention to detail required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed.
Satisfactory results from criminal, civil and/or motor vehicle background check required.
