The City of Tigard is excited to welcome two new Information Systems Administrators to our IT department. These positions will maintain all components of the city’s virtual server environment, virtual desktop platform, and network infrastructure; implements new systems, programs, hardware and software upgrades; and maintains network security. While both administrators will work in the City’s central IT department on projects related to all City departments, one incoming administrator will focus on Police Department IT systems for the majority of their time while the other will primarily work on IT systems for the entire city.

Support the City’s virtual server platform.
Maintain our virtual desktop environment.
Manage our Shoretel VOIP system.
Ensure the security of our various information systems.
Assist our City’s departments with their specialty computing needs.


Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information technology, or a related field AND
Five (5) years of responsible network management, computer systems, systems analysis, or related experience; OR
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week; Typically Mon-Thurs 7am-6pm with some flexibility and alternative schedules available.
