As part of our landscape maintenance team, you will maintain, repair, preserve, and reconstruct landscaped areas and rest area facilities and grounds by hand and by using light and heavy equipment. A day in the life:

Maintain wooded areas. Replant, prune, thin or trim trees, shrubs and groundcover.
Operate a wide variety of equipment such as trucks, dozers, mowers, chippers, hydro seeders and herbicide sprayers.
Maintain roadside turf areas. Install and repair irrigation systems.
Service and repair equipment, tools and motorized equipment.
During winter operations, operate heavy equipment to clear snow from roads. May remove snow and ice from maintenance compound, office walkways and equipment.
Perform minor building maintenance including sweeping floors, cleaning toilets, painting and light carpentry.
Clear brush on right of way, mow grass in median areas. Pick up and dispose of litter and other debris. Repair and rebuild fences.
Exposure to noise, adverse weather, dangerous equipment, pesticides, fertilizers and hazardous waste materials is expected.
Must be able to walk, stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time and lift up to 60 pounds.
May need to be available at any time for emergency, on-call and weather-related purposes.

What we need:

Six months experience in operating heavy or light motorized equipment, using hand and power tools, performing minor servicing of equipment and applying safety procedures.

Employee will be required to use a commercial motor vehicle to conduct business; you must possess a current, valid commercial driver's license A (CDL-A) OR have the ability to acquire a CDL-A permit within 3 months of hire and a CDL-A within six months of hire (ODOT will cover training and costs) to be considered eligible for this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
