Janitorial Route Supervisor: Downtown/NE Portland - FT

Job overview: We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to provide supervisory support for janitors with disabilities and barriers at multiple sites on the east side of Portland and Multnomah County. In this role, you will be providing direct support to janitorial staff, while managing communication between customers, management, and support staff. This person will be compassionate, organized, and good at communication.

Wages & Benefits:

Shift: Generally M - F 5:00 pm - 1:30 am (with occasional day work required depending on customer needs)
Wage is $22.35/hour
Full-time benefits include medical, dental, 403b retirement plan, life insurance, and mileage reimbursement
Relay pays 100% of an employee’s medical, dental and vision premiums

Reports to the Director of Janitorial and Service Delivery Team Manager
Oversees employees at several sites occupied by Multnomah County and City of Portland
Support, train and mentor janitors with disabilities and barriers to ensure success and engagement at multiple work sites
Maintain positive communication between customers, management and support staff
Conduct site inspections to ensure quality standards are achieved
Resolve customer concerns and work site conflicts in a professional and timely manner
Understand and apply budget constraints related to supplies
Develop and implement work schedules and ensure coverage
Willingness to perform janitorial tasks when necessary
Other job duties as assigned


5 years combined education, janitorial operations, and/or management experience
5+ years managing 20+ employees
Experience working or volunteering with persons with disabilities and/or diverse populations is preferred
Strong business management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
Some knowledge of contracts preferred
Flexible schedule
Physical ability to perform occasional janitorial tasks; walk, bend, lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle and clean driving record
Pass a criminal background check to obtain Federal security clearances
Bilingual a plus!
