As a Senior Home Equity Lending Specialist, you will provide a wide variety of support services for the home equity division of the consumer lending department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to collecting supporting documentation from members and others, coordinating loan signings, signing loan documents with members, funding loans, loan processing, loan maintenance and lien perfection. The position also performs filing, scanning and other clerical duties, and handles requests for information and answers lending questions for members and employees. Additionally, serves to support management and team members by handling escalations, complicated error resolution, and answering difficult lending questions for members and employees. Acts as a mentor and assists with training of new department staff.

Responsibilities Include:
•Processes Home Equity loan packages including but not limited to the review, funding, and set-up of loans, and managing loan documents in the imaging system. May also process loans for Indirect Mobile Home transactions.
•Accurately prepares, scans, and files home equity documents. Funds home equity loans and coordinates with sales staff to schedule loan signing appointments for members.
•Ensures credit union’s lien holder position including tracking all recording and issuance of deeds and title policies.
•Verifies that all applications and documents have been completed thoroughly, accurately and that they are properly signed by all who are obligated on the loan.
•Corrects difficult account and loan errors and problems. Follows up and corrects errors identified during internal quality control reviews.
•Provides outstanding service and support by serving as a knowledge resource. Answers questions of branch staff, contact center staff, and members to appropriately manage expectations throughout the loan process.
•Works with credit union vendors to verify and monitor insurance coverage on all collateral. Processes Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) placements and refunds on loans when necessary.
•Performs loan maintenance tasks.Responds to loan maintenance requests in the CRM and completes adjustments and corrections timely and accurately.
•Creates new memberships with special attention paid to compliance and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements.
•Processes and completes third party subordination requests.
•Serves as a resource for other team members and employees on forms, regulations, procedures, document preparation, and funding for all Home Equity loans.
•Assists members with a wide variety of transactions, inquiries, complaints and information requests. Serves members and employees in an extraordinary manner to deliver on the Advantis brand promise.
•Ensures the confidentiality of daily work and member information.
•Meets annual product knowledge certification, regulation and other training requirements.

•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Minimum two years’ previous experience in a financial institution or similar organization in lending, preferably in a processing role.
•Ability to quickly learn new computer applications/systems and work with multiple data systems simultaneously.
•Understands federal and state laws and regulations applicable to lending and basic deposit accounts.
•Thorough knowledge of loan documentation and underwriting criteria for all consumer loan types.
•Thorough knowledge of Advantis’ operational and lending policies and procedures.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent service and problem solving skills.
•Excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills.
•Must possess excellent basic math skills with a basic understanding of accounting.
•Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and tact in dealing with members, staff, and vendors.
•Ability to analyze work processes and to make recommendations for process improvement.
•Ability to maintain high standards in areas of security, accuracy, thoroughness, completeness and neatness of documentation and records, system input, correspondence, system upgrades and system testing.
•Flexibility to deal with unexpected events, and attend meetings and events that may occur outside of regularly scheduled work hours. Work schedule may vary to provide sufficient service levels.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality.
