The Department of Land Use and Transportation is recruiting for a Utility Coordinator position within our Capital Project Services Division. This position will be responsible for coordinating with various utility companies and their relocation activities during the design and construction of capital transportation projects. Specifically, the Utility Coordinator evaluates and coordinates the relocation of public and private utility facilities that interfere with roadway improvement projects, which requires field review of utility moves on key projects to assure timely and accurate utility relocation.

The ideal candidate has the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of multiple utility companies. They also possess knowledge in the area of designing/constructing transportation and utility-related facilities.

Education and Experience:

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Eight (8) years of experience applying civil engineering theory, principles, and methods with emphasis on maintenance, plan preparation and review, road and bridge construction, inspection, and/or design review. OR
An Associate’s Degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management, surveying, or closely related field; AND
Four (4) years of experience applying civil engineering theory, principles, and methods with emphasis on maintenance, plan preparation and review, road and bridge construction, inspection, and/or design review. OR
A Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management, surveying, or closely related field; AND
Two (2) years of experience applying civil engineering theory, principles, and methods with emphasis on maintenance, plan preparation and review, road and bridge construction, inspection, and/or design review. OR
A Master's Degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management, surveying, or closely related field; AND
One (1) year of transportation-related experience applying civil engineering theory, principles, and methods with emphasis on maintenance, plan preparation and review, road and bridge design, and/or design review.

If you have completed education in a foreign college or university and are using this education to meet the minimum qualifications, you must provide documentation that the foreign education is comparable to that received within the United States' accredited college or university system or your application will not be accepted.

ADDITIONAL LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND SPECIALTY REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.

Salary: $37.94 - $46.11 Hourly
