The City of Tigard, Oregon invites applications for a Utility Worker II (may underfill as Utility Worker I) in the Parks Division of the Public Works Department.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Planting, pruning trees and removing hazardous trees.
Irrigating, mowing, renovating and fertilizing turf, trimming, planting, fertilizing and pruning shrubs.
Operating specialized vehicles and heavy equipment (such as aerial lift trucks, production mowers) related to the construction, maintenance and repair of City parks.
Installing, inspecting, and maintaining park equipment and grounds to ensure safe user experiences.
Maintaining park appearance – graffiti and trash removal and vandalism repair.
Participates in programming, installing, troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems.
Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade AND
Two (2) years (1 year for UWI) of related experience, such as construction, repair, operation, and maintenance of streets, underground utilities, or parks and landscape.
Licenses and Certifications:
Utility Worker I: Oregon Driver license with the appropriate endorsements and satisfactory driving history.
Utility Worker II: Possession of a valid Class A (CDL) Commercial Oregon driver license with the appropriate endorsements and satisfactory driving history and Oregon Department of Agriculture Pesticide License.
Possession of or ability to obtain: Standard First Aid Certificate issued by the American Red Cross and a valid CPR Certification.
Utility Worker II: $22.01-$29.49
Utility Worker I: $20.45-$27.40
Union Representation: SEIU

The successful candidate will pass a physical capacities test designed to evaluate ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job.
